Georgian Style Manor House – Surrey Hills

A gorgeous 5-bedroom manor house located in the Surrey Hills with smart yet subtle touches that bring ease to everyday scenarios.

This project was brought to us by a developer we have worked with on several projects and together we worked closely to bring the clients’ ideas to life.

Hidden Multi-Room Audio

Our client wanted to be able to listen to music regardless of what room they were in without having to plug a speaker into every corner of each room, ruining the careful design and feel of the interior. This is why we chose to install a central high resolution multi room audio distribution system, partnered with both discrete in-ceiling and fully hidden plaster-over speakers throughout the property.  Together this provides the ability to listen to audio in single or multiple synced rooms without any impact on the beautiful décor.

The family can use the on-wall touchscreens, remote controls or mobile devices to stream audio to one or several rooms.

Door Entry & Intercom

One of the main factors that come into play on a property with large grounds and a long driveway is the ability to take calls from the automated gates without having to leave the room. With Control4, we were able to integrate the main gate entry to provide an intercom system that calls specific touchscreens throughout the house, plus the ability to also answer via the Control4 mobile application both at home and remotely.

Control of the gates couldn’t be easier, our client can use a light switch button, the touchscreens, mobile application or a voice assistant.

Intelligent lighting

The lighting design on this project was paramount so to compliment this the homeowner wanted to use a robust lighting system that allowed easy scene selecting, the ability to edit those scenes as well as individually control single light circuits. This is where Control4 lighting came into play allowing them to do everything they desire – and more via the on wall touchscreens, light switches or the mobile application.

Networking

With there being limited cellular signal in the area, a distributed Wi-Fi network throughout the property was a must. Roaming from room to room, floor to floor or strolling around the picturesque grounds, our client doesn’t notice any drop outs or loss in connection.

Security

We worked closely with the client to provide full CCTV coverage of the project. With a 16 channel network video recorder we populated the site with 4k cameras that cover the main gate, driveway, grounds, every corner of the main house and the pool house at both day and night.  The client can view live feeds or three weeks’ worth of playback either in house or remotely using the mobile application.
